The additions are Sam, an 18-year-old male cross-dresser, and Aisleyne, a blonde promotions girl from London.
Pete had won the "bonus prizes" after answering three out of four questions correctly in the diary room. With the other housemates kept away in the lounge - but watching the action unfold on the plasma screen - Glyn was reponsible for unveiling the prizes in the garden.
Both Sam and Aisleyne displayed an expected giddy - and profane - reaction when released from their boxes. Aisleyne told an equally surprised Glyn that he had "freaked [her] the fuck out", while Sam declared that he had been "shitting [himself]".
Glyn took an instant liking to Aisleyne, telling her that she was a good prize and "very pretty".
Soon the other housemates were allowed out of the lounge, and loud and excited introductions ensued.
Aisleyne and Sam are both eligible to win the ?100,000 prize money but will be exempt from tomorrow's first round of nominations. Big Brother has instructed them to pretend that they have been in hiding for the last three weeks so have been unable to watch any of the show.
As well as two new housemates, the group also won toilet roll and miscellaneous items from their shopping list.
