Richard discusses his Canadian upbringing
Published Tuesday, Jun 27 2006, 08:02 BST | By Neil Wilkes

Although he was raised across the pond, he still enjoyed a strong British influence thanks to his English mother.
"We had lots of British dishes," he recalled. "We had roast potatoes and stuff. But then she stopped."
The problem, he admitted, was that he and his siblings developed a taste for - and subsequently demanded - Canadian food. "We started getting moose, elk and deer," he said. "We didn't have meats such as lamb."
Meanwhile, Richard revealed that he was "7 or 8" when he first realised that he was attracted to males. "As a child you know," he told an intrigued Aisleyne. "You don't understand sexuality [at that age] but something is urging you... with me it was men and physiques."
