'Nadia pinched my bum,' claims man

Nadia Almada hit a man in a fight over his allegedly homophobic remarks, a court has heard.

The Big Brother winner slapped Richard Oliver after approaching him in a London pub and pinching him on the bum twice, he claimed.

Almada is charged with common assault on the man and is currently standing trial at Highbury Magistrates' Court.

He told the court she claimed her name was Georgia but, when he realised she was the transsexual television star, he told her: "I said 'You did win Big Brother, your name is George'."

Almada took offence at the comment, got angry and hit him in the face, he claims. "Then I said 'Hang on a minute, you're a man, I can hit you back', and put my drink down," he told magistrates.

Oliver admitted he was planning to hit her back but said she slapped him again before a security guard split them up. "I've nothing against Nadia," he told the court. "She is a woman, she's a transsexual, she had an operation and she is a woman."

Almada insisted she was acting to defend herself and claimed Oliver was acting aggressively. In a police interview which was read to the court she said he had been acting like a bully and been gender homophobic.
