Kara-Louise: We should be celebrities
Published Sunday, Aug 5 2007, 21:43 BST | By Beth Hilton
Kara-Louise and Brian have agreed that appearing on Big Brother is an achievement and deserves some recognition.
"Being a minor celebrity is almost what's owed to you for being in here," mused Kara-Louise in the garden this afternoon, after bemoaning the fact that ex-housemates are often viewed as "losers".
Brian concurred that contestants deserve recognition, especially if they have risked their jobs to appear on the show.
The pair then reflected that baring their souls on camera for three months was very difficult and should not be dismissed as "doing nothing".
"There's no escape, no control, it's 24 hours a day 'til you leave," noted Kara-Louise.
"It's really weird how people are judging your personality," commented Sam, who had been listening to their conversation while sitting nearby. "When you go out and you get booed, people are actually booing who you are."
Brian agreed: "It is pantomime but it does come from something. Someone's actually taking their time to say 'I don't like you'."
Returning to the subject a few minutes later, Kara-Louise remarked: "It's quite harsh though, isn't it? You must think when you come out 'God, what have I done?' especially if you really don't know."
She added: "When I heard booing [for me] the other night, I just thought 'God, what have I done? [I must be] winding people up already'."
