Jonty used his toy bear Monkety Tunkety to introduce himself to Pop Idol Will Young when they met in Edinburgh a couple of years ago.
Aspiring singer and friend of the housemate David Wilder told The Sun: "I was with with Jonty in Edinburgh a few years ago. We spotted Will Young in a cafe and I asked Jonty if he'd help me with an introduction so I could find out if Will knew who I could get in touch with about my songs.
"Next minute Jonty was over him with Monkety Tunkety and his teddies. Will took it well, fortunately, and was really friendly and helpful."
Talking about his friend's chances of winning Big Brother, he added: "Jonty has always been a lot of fun and is never without his monkey and teddies. I think he should win. He's a funny guy, it's just some people don't know how to take him."
