20.45: First out is Jonty, followed by Carole in fifth place. They leave together, Jonty clutching his monkey.
21.08: Davina introduces herself to the house again to disappoint...Ziggy.
21.10: Ziggy has a fan in the press room. She claps, then leaves.
21.17: He's interviewed, he cries - we seem to laugh.
21.24: Who's in third place? The media say Liam...as does the public.
21.38: We're being shown The IT Crowd. The audience laughs - we cry. Well no, we just don't laugh. It would only encourage them.
21.46: The entertainment is put on hold as we're given some vital stats. Apparently 3% of the public wanted Jonty to win the series, while Carole was marginally more popular with 4.9% when the votes were frozen.
21.52: More numbers. Ziggy had 15.3% of the votes, while third-place runner-up Liam found favour with 19.1%.
22.19: Brian wins, the room cheers. Drink flows, still. Poirot looks down on me from the wall.
22.22: Cheers echo around Elstree as bouncy runner-up Samanda re-enters the real world, continuing a relativly boo-free finale.
22.30: "Have you ever raised your voices?" Davina asks the twins. "NO!" they shout.
22.32: TV land: twins' best bits. Real life: mysterious fireworks.
22.37: Brian emerges. There are those fireworks again.
