The original programme showed a white left-wing family man being appalled when a black man moves in next door to him.
But in this reworking the roles will be reversed so that Laud will play a black barrister who is appalled by the appearance of a "ghastly" white couple.
He told The Daily Mail: "It's quite provocative but a positive representation of black people in modern Britain.
"Wherever I go in Britain I find people asking, 'When are black people going to be portrayed on TV in a more positive way?'"
The remake will be a segment of a sketch show for Channel 4 called U Know What I Mean?, according to Chortle.
