Published Thursday, May 8 2008, 10:29 BST | By Simon Reynolds

The deal will be used primarily to promote Virgin Mobile, although services from parent company Virgin Media may also feature on the Big Brother ads.
James Kydd, managing director of marketing and brand for Virgin Media, described Big Brother and Virgin's agreement as a "perfect fit".
He said: "We're really pleased to be aligned with the show again.
"When it’s not being broadcast on Channel 4, we look forward to keeping fans up to date via our mobile, TV and web portal platforms."
Virgin Mobile sponsored Big Brother 8 and this year's Celebrity Hijack.
Carphone Warehouse previously sponsored the Channel 4 reality show but dropped out following the controversy surrounding 2007's Celebrity Big Brother.
