Mario pops the big question

The first wedding proposal to take place on Big Brother was made this afternoon, albeit between a fake couple.

Mario asked Stephanie to marry him in the pool after calling all the housemates as witnesses.

The proposal was made after Big Brother told Mario he had just under two hours to pop the question as part of their secret mission.

A shocked Stephanie said "yes", prompting cheers from the rest of the group and a bemused smile from Lisa.

But an argument broke out within minutes after Mikey said some housemates in the pool had accused Mario of using the proposal as part of a game plan.

Alexandra told Mikey that the people in question were not speaking maliciously, adding that it had been unfair of Mikey to portray them as nasty.

Mario later told his real-life partner Lisa that he had not been allowed to tell her in advance. Asked if he had been convincing, Lisa replied: “Very.”
