2009 Reality TV Stars No.7: Marcus Akin

Despite dwindling viewing figures and some very vocal critics, most fans of Big Brother were agreed that series ten was one of the finest runs the show has had since the glory years of 2001 to 2004. The usual mixture of oddballs and attention-seekers sprung up, but we also had for the first time in years some housemates to love, with Freddie, Sophie, Rodrigo and Siavash. However, the best of the lot, in our opinion, was Marcus Akin.



The self-proclaimed Irrepressible Dark Horse, Akin brought a sense of anarchy to the show not seen since the Jungle Cats invaded the house in series five. Whether he was enjoying a cheeky "graveyard shift", confronting the likes of Bea and Lisa when they stepped out of line or just being plain old "Captain Cool As F**k", Marcus was a classic Big Brother housemate. Who would have thought that a Wolverine lookalike window fitter from Brentford could be so fascinating?!
