Last month, it was revealed that the actress had failed to secure a part in the programme, despite previously being tipped as a likely recruit following an audition.
Gordon is currently searching for new projects after filming her final scenes as Summer Bay's Martha MacKenzie.
Reflecting on her recent setback, she told The Daily Telegraph: "I'd just come out of Home and Away and it was my first audition. I tried for a regular part and didn't get it.
"That was sad, but that process - and doing the recall - is what I have to get used to now."
The 25-year-old also said that she is "doing what every other actor is doing" by regularly attending auditions and "trying to get to know the craft a bit better".
