Best Of CBB: Chantelle pulls off her singing task

Chantelle Houghton entered Celebrity Big Brother 4 as a non-celebrity in arguably the biggest twist in any series of Big Brother. Given the task of pretending to be a member of girl group Kandy Floss, she successfully duped her fellow contestants into thinking she was famous, despite being unable to sing or even remember her song lyrics.

Chantelle appears to have got away with today's singing task - but raised the eyebrows of some of the celebrities in the process.

The fake popstar had tried a number of different tactics to disguise her lie, including feigning a sore throat, attempting to get drunk and claiming she was singing unfamiliar parts of the song.

Fortunately for her, her worst fears - not being able to sing a note - were avoided after Big Brother played the full tune (complete with professionally-recorded vocals), leaving her the much easier task of miming her way through the song.

Despite the stakes being lowered and despite having the words on a sheet in front of her, however, Chantelle still managed to fluff her lines several times.

Jodie sat wide-eyed as she watched the performance while Dennis hid beneath his hat. George, meanwhile, appeared completely immersed, telling her afterwards: "I wanted it to continue."

Professional performances came from Pete, who had everyone singing along to his classic 'You Spin Me Round', and Preston, who made an impression on Faria in particular with his track 'Boys Will Be Boys'. "Absolutely brilliant," she said afterwards. "That just took me back to high school."
