Corrie's Kym Marsh praises Alex Reid

Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has praised Alex Reid for his conduct in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

The actress, best known for her role as Weatherfield's Michelle Connor, admitted that Katie Price's lover had "surprised" her since making his debut on the Channel 4 reality show.

Discussing this year's batch of contestants, Marsh told New: "If Vinnie [Jones] doesn't walk, he'll win, although Sisqo is my favourite because he's so funny.

"I'm also surprised by how well Alex Reid is coming across on the show. I know what it's like having your relationship picked on, so it can't be easy for Alex. He does try a bit too hard, but I think so would I if I was in his shoes."

Marsh, who recently became engaged to former Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas, is currently taking part in ITV1's Popstar To Operastar.
