The 2011 housemate told the Evening Standard that stripping off in the house would have proved that she and her husband John Bercow, Speaker of the House of Commons, can be different.
Bercow said: "Husbands and wives don't have to agree on everything. I didn't like the fact that he was a Tory MP.
"I almost wish I'd run naked around the house, because it would have caused such a furor it would have been sort of a test case. You cannot judge a husband by his wife, and vice versa."
Bercow added: "Yes, it would have upset him. Oh, he would have been terribly upset. He probably would have divorced me if I had run naked round the house."
Bercow, who attracted attention after posing in a bedsheet for a newspaper, was the first contestant to be voted off this year's show and later admitted to feeling "embarrassed" about not lasting longer in the contest.
Of why her husband did not want her to go on the reality TV show, she said: "He's cautious! If you mention Big Brother to a politician they all think of George Galloway robot-dancing dressed as a cat.
"He was firmly of the view that I shouldn't do it. I said, 'Sorry, honey, I love you very much but I'm doing it'."
However, she added: "If I thought he was going to be depressed and suicidal and in tears every night because I was going on Big Brother, I wouldn't have done it."
Following her eviction from Celebrity Big Brother, bookmakers slashed odds on her splitting from John before the end of the year.
Bercow told Digital Spy that she would "love to" appear on another reality TV show and explained: "I don't deny that I want a media career. I absolutely don't deny that."
