'Champion' singer Chipmunk was also approached by Big Brother producers, but 25-year-old Stryder was recruited instead, according to The Sun.
Nicola McLean, Lindsay Lohan, Natasha Giggs and X Factor contestant Frankie Cocozza are among the other stars linked to the show.
Two teaser trailers for the series - one featuring EastEnders' Barry (Shaun Williamson) and another starring host Brian Dowling and former contestants Jedward and Amy Childs - were released last week.
It was confirmed earlier this month that Celebrity Big Brother will return on January 5, 2012.
