Bob Mortimer: 'I adore Big Brother'

TV comic Bob Mortimer has revealed that he is still a huge fan of Big Brother and that the only reason he hasn't taken part in the celebrity version is because his wife won't let him.

Mortimer, one half of comic duo Vic & Bob, told Digital Spy that he never misses an episode of the Channel 5 series.

"I love Big Brother. I adore it. What can I say. It just suits me fine," said Mortimer.

"It's at the right time before bed. I watch that and Bit on the Side. I like having something I can watch every single night. It suits my habits. The show's as good as it ever was and it's a good show."

He added: "I've been asked to go in several times. But my wife won't let me. Because I'm a grubby, sweary kind of guy. She's got the parents at school to face."

Meanwhile, his comedy partner Vic Reeves confessed that he has been approached to take part in BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing on a number of occasions.

"Every year they ask. I'd be terrible," he said. "I think you have to train for eight weeks. I don't have that in me. Also, you're not creating anything. You're just copying someone else's dance moves."

Vic and Bob's Lucky Sexy Winners airs on Thursday, August 23 at 10pm on Channel 4 as part of the Funny Fortnight.
