Lee Collins was found guilty of harassment of his ex-girlfriend Anna Larke after a two-week trial in October.
The former Friday Night Project host has insisted that he will "never accept" the allegations that he is a violent abuser, despite being sentenced to 140 hours of community service by a jury at St Albans Crown Court.
According to The Mirror, Big Brother producers are happy to have him on the show because he has completed his community service and they believe it will give viewers the chance to make up their own minds about whether he has changed.
In 2009, Lee Collins mocked Big Brother contestants during an interview with Digital Spy.
The TV star spoke out about being made to do a Big Brother-themed episode of The Friday Night Project, back when the show was on Channel 4, describing the special as "one of the worst things that I've ever had to do".
"The BB special, which Channel 4 made us do... I've said it several times and I'll say it again, if I'd had a gun, I would have shot myself in the face," Lee Collins told Digital Spy.
Celebrity Big Brother returns on Thursday, January 3 at 9pm on Channel 5.
