Rolling in it

Published Friday, Jan 21 2005, 18:57 GMT | By Emma Tingay
Big Brother has set the five remaining housemates a task called Sticky Lucre. The aim of the task was for each of them to roll around in a tub of sticky syrup before trying to win part of their prize fund - by rolling around in the money.

£10,000 has been deducted from the £50,000 Celebrity Big Brother prize fund and a trough of bank notes was unveiled to the group in the garden. The bank notes themselves are fake, but the money they are playing for is real.

Housemates had just one minute to cover themselves in the syrup before submerging themselves in a bin of fake fivers. The sticky bank notes then had to be removed by the others and counted. Big Brother gave housemates the opportunity to opt out of the money-grabbing task - and Brigitte chose to do so.

Task over and the money counted, the housemate who has collected the most cash will be called to the Diary Room. There, they will be asked to choose a question to play for the whole £10, 000. If they answer the question correctly, they will receive the money themselves - but should they get it wrong, the other housemates will instead have the £10,000 shared out between them.

Whatever the outcome, the winner of Celebrity Big Brother 3 will receive a £40,000 prize, instead of the original £50,000 promised.

Is opting out of the cash game a tactic by Brigitte? You decide.
