The Celebrity Big Brother pair disagreed over whether the actress was prepared to welcome Goody to her home in Mumbai.
Goody has been travelling in Delhi and had said she was not able to visit Shetty despite an invite. "I've been informed Shilpa has invited me but unfortunately I have commitments with charities," she commented. "If the offer is still open in the near future I'd like to see her."
However, Dale Bhagwagar, Shetty's spokesman, disagreed, questioning the motive for Goody's trip. "Shilpa is not interested to be used as a PR tool to Jade Goody," he declared. "It's obvious she's here for media mileage."
A journalist in the country also criticised the star's attempts. "We see it as one big damage limitation exercise," explained Amit Sharma. "Many here have been infuriated by it."
