The former pop star became a hate figure after being accused of racism, along with other housemates, towards Shilpa Shetty.
However, she spoke to reporters outside a Comic Relief gala performance of Rik Mayall's The New Statesman play in London on Saturday.
"Comic Relief has always been important to me, it's something I've always done, as a band with S Club, and while solo," she explained. "It's a nice thing to get involved with."
Of the alleged racism storm, she continued: "I think it's time for me to move on, and concentrate on getting back to work, and I hope the public will feel the same way.
"I've apologised, I've said sorry if I offended anybody, but nothing racist went on in the house - it was bad editing."
