Shetty: Gere called me every day after kiss

Shilpa Shetty has revealed that Richard Gere called her every day following their public kiss last month.

The actor kissed the Bollywood actress during a TV event to promote AIDS awareness, an incident which caused public uproar in Shetty's native India.

Gere apologised for his actions after the event, and was apparently concerned as to the impact the situation would have on the Celebrity Big Brother winner.

"He was so worried about me, he called me every day - sometimes twice!" Shetty recalls. "It was mortifying for him to have hit the headlines over something like this, but he was so generous about it all and kept calling me to make sure I was alright. He was genuinely very concerned about me. That is the kind of man he is."
