The singer made the statement in court papers relating to his divorce battle with estranged wife Alejandra.
Legal files show that Alejandra alleges she is desperate for money and has an average monthly income of just £40.50.
However, Jackson insisted that he could not afford to give money to his wife and children, saying in his declaration: "I currently do not have any employment and I do not have any income from which to pay support."
The couple - who have sons Jaffar, eight, and four-year-old Jermajesty - split in 2004 after nine years. Jermaine has five other children and Alejandra has two with Jermaine's brother Randy, her previous partner.
Jackson wed third wife Halima Rashid in 2004 after moving to the Middle East.
