Five reasons to watch the CBB7 launch

You don't know what Hammer Pants are? The words 'former Another Level boyband star' mean nothing to you? Ekaterina Ivanova... Eka-who? These are the sorts of phrases that will be relaying around Twitter and living rooms tomorrow night as a handful of the most desperate, lonely and forgotten members of the celebrity community enter the BB house. This year's combination of American stars, faded UK talent and left-field selections sounds like it may be as strong as any that has gone before.

Her exuberance and childish glee may grate some viewers, but BB would be an entirely different beast without Davina at the helm. Her chatshow may have flopped and the jury may be out on Got To Dance, but the idea of BB being hosted by someone other than Miss McCall is pure insanity. If anyone doubts her abilities as a hostess/interviewer then imagine how awful the eviction shows could be with an identikit Fearne Cotton/Holly Willoughby at the helm. More importantly her tours of the house are always comedy gold and add to the launch night excitement.

If you are anything like us, you are probably sick to the back teeth of Miss Price's tabloid-hogging antics. However, the prospect of one of her ex-lovers being thrust into the Elstree compound to spill the beans on her love life brings a devilish grin to our faces. Dane Bowers, Alex Reid and even Peter 'Insania' Andre have all been tipped to enter the show. All we need is Gareth Gates and we'll have the full house! Miss Price will no doubt relish the attention this brings, and who knows, maybe she will grace the BB house with her own presence to settle things with her respective suitors once and for all.

Even the biggest Big Brother grumblers have to admit that the show has revolutionised the way we watch TV (for better and worse). The live feed may be gone *sob, moan, groan* but tonight's launch isn't just a simple one-off TV show. There is the infamous DS forums where we can all vent our fury, there are the spinoff shows, there will be the usual Facebook supporter groups and the latest addition to the launch night experience is Twitter. Expressing your love, hate and disdain in under 140 characters with thousands of like-minded souls makes the whole experience that little bit more tasty. You can follow what we think at @dsrealitybites!

The prospect of Gazza chatting with Lady Sovereign about his pop career, Vinnie Jones sharing a beer with Basshunter and Stephanie Beacham trying to figure out what the hell it is that Dane Bowers actually does - you'd have to be a fool to miss it. Unlike X Factor, The Apprentice and Strictly which typically build to a crescendo, Big Brother always starts with a bang and you'll feel like you've missed out if you tune in on Day 5, without a clue who any of these D-listers are.
