Mark Owen is reportedly in talks to join new BBC singing competition The Voice.

Producers are said to have offered the Take That singer a deal to become a judge on the show, following in the footsteps of bandmate Gary Barlow who is currently on the X Factor panel.

Jessie J was the first artist to be confirmed as a coach on The Voice UK.

A source told the Daily Star Sunday: "Getting Mark to sign up would be a huge scoop for The Voice. The format has been a massive success in America and the BBC are determined to make sure they get the highest quality of judges possible.

"Gary has been a big hit on The X Factor and Beeb bosses love the idea of getting one of his bandmates to go head-to-head against him on a rival show. Ideally producers want a huge international name but they also want a home-grown megastar.

"Although Jessie J is big right now, she's relatively new. Mark is perfect because he's not only had a hugely successful 20-year career, he's also relevant now. And signing him up to be a rival to Gary is even more of an incentive."

Tom Jones, Bryan Adams, Mary J Blige and Lenny Kravitz have all been linked to a role on the show.

Kylie Minogue was recently ruled out of becoming a judge on The Voice because she would cost the corporation too much money.
