The Voice UK: Should the coaches have turned for Bob Blakeley?

By
The Voice UK's Blind Auditions continued tonight (January 18) and there was one in particular that got everyone talking.

Bob Blakeley's performance of 'Cry Me A River' failed to win him a place in the next stage of the competition, which caused a certain amount of outrage on social media.

Judges Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am, Kylie Minogue and Ricky Wilson gave the 55-year-old universal praise, with will.i.am even admitting that he was trying to put his "heart back together" after failing to turn for him.

Wilson added: "It was amazing. The four of us didn't turn round but I think you made the whole country get off their seats."

The Kaiser Chiefs frontman appears to have been right, as fans of the show questioned Blakeley's exit on Twitter.

Hosts Emma Willis and Marvin Humes showed their support for the singer, while Chris Evans extended an invite to Blakeley to join him on his BBC Radio 2 show.

Digital Spy's entertainment editor Catriona Wightman described Blakeley's exit from the show as a "travesty", praising him for his "powerful" rendition of 'Cry Me A River'.

What did you think of Bob Blakeley on tonight's episode? Do you think the coaches should have turned for him? Or do you think Kylie and co. made the right call?
