During a conversation in the living room, the former WAG spoke to the BB2 winner about the difficulty she had moving to Brighton during her marriage to Preston.
"Preston didn’t want to go out with his friends because he didn’t want to leave me at home on my own," Chantelle explained, as she told Brian she struggled to make friends during her time on the South Coast.
She went on to say that she had been excited about starting her new life with the former Ordinary Boys frontman and enjoyed decorating their home.
Brian suggested that Chantelle must have been relieved that she and Preston had not had children before they separated.
"Totally, it would have been harder but...I know Preston would have been a brilliant dad," she replied.
"What was the reason, when did you get to that point where you go, 'I can't do this?'" Brian asked.
"We were bickering so much about living there," Chantelle explained. She added that there was no significant problem, just small arguments that started to develop.
"Did you ever think, like, a time out or a separation?" suggested Brian.
"No... I loved Brighton, but I hated living there," Chantelle continued, explaining that it did not have the community feel that she enjoyed at her parents' home in Essex.
"We were arguing that much it seemed like the only option, to split up," she admitted.
Brian reassured her that it was significant that she had returned to the house for Ultimate Big Brother and she could now gain some closure.
"You've closed the door and you can start afresh and do what you want," he concluded.
