Ulrika first performed the song with Verne Troyer in Celebrity Big Brother 6. This afternoon, the pair were told that they would recreate the performance for their housemates after dinner. A nervous Nick complained that the task was "unfair" as he was not familiar with the song.
After practising throughout the evening, Ulrika confided in Chantelle: "I'd like to be able to say it was all Nick's fault if it all goes wrong, but I suspect it may be me."
Soon after finishing their evening meal, the non-performing housemates were asked to gather in the garden, while Ulrika and Nick donned costumes for their parts as Richie and Ross. "I'll touch your shoulder when it's your turn to come in," Ulrika told Nick as he paced the floor. "Oh my God, you're stressing me so much!" she exclaimed.
As Nick nervously looked over the words that had been provided by Big Brother, Ulrika told him: "I know you think that's your security blanket, but in five minutes you're going to have to look at me." She added: "Breathe, relax. And, I was going to say, enjoy.
"Don't race away with it, or we'll be up shit creek. Just take it slowly. It might help you to remember the words."
Big Brother then called all housemates to the sofas in front of a newly constructed stage. Announcing the duo's entrance, Big Brother said: "Can you please give a warm Big Brother welcome to Miss Diana Ross and Mr Lionel Richie?!" The spectators cheered as the pair exited the bedroom, as Ulrika muttered: "Shit, I'm stuck," when her floor-length gown became entangled in a bed.
The housemates clapped and cheered throughout the performance, waving their arms back and forth. As they gave a standing ovation to Ulrika and Nick's efforts, the TV presenter headed straight for the drinks table, warning: "You'd better have saved some of that [alcohol]!"
Brian accompanied Ulrika to the bedroom as she changed out of her Diana Ross costume, saying: "I loved you hamming it up at the end." Ulrika replied: "I just tried to spice it up a bit. Nick had said, 'Do we look at each other?' and I said, 'I can't guarantee I will look at you as I don't know how nervous I'll be'."
Congratulating their performance, Brian commented: "I didn't laugh as much as I thought I would. In a good way - you're better than I expected."
