However, following a day of low spirits amongst the group, they initially seemed reluctant to make an effort for the event.
After being provided with mullet-styled wigs, glam rock outfits, inflatable guitars and black make-up, the housemates slowly began to get ready for the party. "Oh my God," Brian exclaimed, after applying black lipstick and eye-liner. "I like fun make-up, but not this." Ulrika told an annoyed Nikki: "Just think of all the wild fun you'll have. I'm joking, of course."
The group gathered at the sofas and chatted about what music could be played during the bash. "Oh God, not death metal, please," Michelle said. "Is death metal the one where they scream all the time?" she then asked. Preston suggested it may be "more glam" than metal, while Brian and Ulrika reeled off a list of bands they considered to be metal, including Bon Jovi, Status Quo and Nirvana.
Frustrated by the delay, Nikki announced, "I'm so sick of waiting around," as everyone else agreed. Brian spoke directly into his mic, joking: "Big Brother, if this doesn't happen in five minutes, I'm walking out the door." Vanessa added: "Well, thanks to Josie, we know which door to use!" Brian then quipped into his mic: "Have OK and Heat ready. It's a fight!"
Big Brother then announced that the housemates could collect alcohol from the store room. Most of the group were pleasantly surprised by the drinks provided, with Victor commenting: "Wow, they've never given us 12 lagers before."
With music being played into the house and drinks being passed around, the mood in the house lifted. The housemates danced as Preston jumped on the back of the sofas and played his inflatable guitar, before pretending to stage dive off the back of the settees.
The housemates were then excited to hear that Big Brother had provided pizzas, cheering at the announcement. A suspicious Brian asked: "Why are they being so nice to us?"
As the group chatted and enjoyed more drinks and dancing, they bemoaned how easily they get drunk, with Vanessa saying: "I can't drink much at all." Brian then caught a glimpse of himself in the mirrors as he exited the Diary Room, saying: "Oh my God, I'm off the rails. I look like Irene from Home and Away."
