Wallace, who portrayed Kat Slater in the soap, will play Evans' wife in the BBC's People Like Us, which will catalogue the couple as they attempt to move from a rural town to London.
A source told Digital Spy: "Jessie plays Jackie, who swaps Crouch End for the country idyll of Hertfordshire with Leo her husband (Lee Evans), but the facade of happy suburban life soon begins to crack when the wine starts flowing at a disastrous dinner party."
