Spice Girl Mel C has promised that there is some attractive male talent taking part in Andrew Lloyd Webber's reality show Superstar.

The former popstar-turned-West End performer joked that the show's production team were kept entertained by the male hopefuls hoping to land the part of Jesus in Lloyd Webber's revival of the classic rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar

"There are some real hotties in the running and all the girls in the production team - including myself! - had a lovely time working with them," said Mel C. "Make sure you don't miss a minute!"

Mel C will be playing Mary Magdalene in the arena tour and helped out Jason Donovan as a judge during the early audition rounds.

"The standard is very high. From great, raw talent with very little or no experience to West End leading men - an extraordinary amount of people are drawn to this role, which has made the competition so high," she said.

"The standard of talent is incredibly high and the arena tour of Jesus Christ Superstar, I believe, is the most awesome prize any show like this has had to offer."

Hosted by Amanda Holden, the auditions for Superstar launch this Saturday (July 7) at 7.25pm on ITV1.
