'Made In Chelsea' Jamie, Proudlock Q&A: Secrets are going to come out

By
Made In Chelsea is back on our screens in just a few more days and we are too excited about it here at Digital Spy. Luckily for us, we managed to sneak in to the gang's recent photoshoot to grab Proudlock and Jamie for a bit of a chat to tide us over!

The boys talked about everything from fancy cocktails to misguided tattoos, so read on to find out who's embarrassed by their on-screen kissing, who has a crush on one of the new cast members, whether Jamie's still holding a candle for Binky and why this series is getting dark...

How's the photoshoot going?
Proudlock: "The shoot's been going pretty good, I think. Jamie's got a lot of make-up on."
Jamie: "You wear more make-up than me!"
Proudlock: "Jamie loves it."
Jamie: "I wear make-up before I come, and then I put more on just to top up."
Proudlock: "Double make-up."

Jamie, are you okay now? I heard you and Francis got attacked recently...
Jamie: "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Fine. All relaxed."

Good! It is nice speaking to both of you at the same time - there's that bromance thing going on.
Jamie: "We don't really like each other!"

Well, you and Francis had a bit of tension last series, Proudlock. Is that alright now?
Proudlock: "We're all good. We were always good throughout that whole process. It was just a lack of communication and realisation."
Jamie: "I think if you're that good friends, you don't really fall out over things like that."

It did always feel like it was very civil - like neither of you wanted to annoy the other.
Proudlock: "It was very civil, it was very civil. We're all good."

So are you guys living together now?
Jamie: "We are planning to. We haven't quite moved in yet."
Proudlock: "We're thinking about it."
Jamie: "We are planning on moving in together, so hopefully if we find the perfect house, yes, the plan is to move in with each other."

What about Spencer? It was a bit of a thing last series about whether he'd join you.
Jamie: "We've got a decision at the moment to make. We've sort of got to make a decision about who we're going to live with and what's going to happen."
Proudlock: "We still haven't found a place yet, so we're waiting."

What about romance? Is there anything going on for you guys? Any girls we should look out for?
Jamie: "Proudlock's after some guys!"
Proudlock: "You're so funny."
Jamie: "I think last season and a few other times we'd always gone looking for girls - 'Yeah, we want a relationship' - and now we kind of just let things happen."
Proudlock: "There are some new girls in the show as well, which is always good to spice things up a little bit."

What can you tell us about the new people joining the show?
Proudlock: "There are three new girls who are all friends who come in, and another guy who used to work for me."

Oh, so you know him pretty well?
Proudlock: "Yeah, he's worked for me at my company for the last six months."
Jamie: "And the girls are great. They're so much fun."
Proudlock: "They're very cool."
Jamie: "Very, very good, fun, cool girls, so we're really excited to have them on board."

I mean, we had Lucy join last series and she caused all kinds of trouble...
Proudlock: "She did, didn't she? [Jamie makes a face] He's a big, big fan."
Jamie: "I'm a big fan of hers."

Are things maybe not so great with Lucy right now?
Jamie: "Well, I haven't seen her that much, so I don't know, but maybe if we see each other, probably things would be right as rain."
Proudlock: "Do you believe that?"

It wasn't the most convincing thing I've ever heard...
Proudlock: "I'm not convinced."
Jamie: "No, but the new girls are great. They're really fun, and also I went to university with one of them, so everybody's in the same social group. As always! Everyone kind of knows everyone always. And they're hot, as well, which makes it even better."

So they don't cause quite as much trouble?
Jamie: "Do they cause much trouble? Yeah, of course. Definitely drama's going to [happen]. Whatever happens, whatever people, whatever new, old..."
Proudlock: "We always say at the beginning of every season, 'How could there be more drama?' We're halfway through [filming] now, but as always, there's always drama."
Jamie: "Some s**t has happened!"
Proudlock: "S**t's really kicking off."

Have you both managed to avoid getting slapped so far? I mean, Millie slapping Spencer last series...
Proudlock: "I'm all good. Jamie, I'm not too sure, I don't know - have you been slapped yet?"
Jamie: "I haven't been slapped. Yet!"

I mean, you probably got a bit close with Binky's mum.
Jamie: "Yeah, I know! She could have slapped me. She could have slapped me! But I was too charming, I think. I was too sweet."

Have you managed to stay out of trouble with Binky and Binky's mum?
Jamie: "You know what I think with Binks? I will love Binks, whatever ever happens... I love Binks. Absolutely love Binks. She's an amazing girl. Would anything ever happen again? Who knows? But we'll see, I don't know."
Proudlock: "Do you still quite like Binks?"
Jamie: "Oh, shut up!"
Proudlock: "Well, that's what you're implying there."
Jamie: "I'm not implying anything! I'm just saying she's a great girl."
Proudlock: "Jamie still fancies Binky! Wait and see, wait and see."
Jamie: "Proudlock has a picture of Caggie on his ceiling."
Proudlock: "That's not true!"
Jamie: "She doesn't even know. It's like, from a bush."

Have you even seen Caggie recently?
Proudlock: "No, she's in Australia now. She's moved to Australia, so I haven't seen her. She's been out there for a few months, so I haven't seen her for a while, but I think she's having a good time."

One of the great things about Made In Chelsea is all the parties - are there any good ones coming up?
Jamie: "Always! To be honest, I think the opening episode has a good party."
Proudlock: "It's true, yeah. I think the show opens with a really big party."
Jamie: "It does - it opens with a bit of a crazy party, which is pretty good. I think this season's really gone down the road - I think it's trying to really follow what's actually happening. They go, 'Right guys, what are you doing tonight?' 'We're doing this, we're doing that'. 'Okay, so let's go do this and do that'. They don't try and fool you, because everything is completely real and they do say, 'What do you normally do?' But this time, we said, 'We want to do this, because this is what we have done', and they go, 'Right, let's follow it'. Which is quite hard to do sometimes because, you know, lots of complicated issues. If we wanted to do it in a bunker, they'd go, 'Where the hell do we get a bunker from?' [Proudlock makes a face] You know what I mean!"
Proudlock: "I'm not sure where he's going with that bunker. 'We have an epic party in a bunker!'"
Jamie: "You know what I mean! Like, if we said, 'We want to go and have a party on a private jet', they'd be like, 'Well, we can try and do this'. So they really have followed it and done exactly what we are doing the whole time, which is great. I think it's worked really well. So the parties are proper parties and the whole show I think has become... I think it's a lot darker at the moment."
Proudlock: "It is, yeah."

Dark? Is there serious stuff going on?
Proudlock: "There is some pretty serious stuff that's coming, yeah."
Jamie: "Some big stuff."

I know you can't say too much, but can you give us any hints about what?
Jamie: "I just think people's relationships have got deeper, there are other relationships. I think what happens is when you're so far in relationships, so deep in relationships, and they're following our lives, it's exactly what happens. You can't hide from anything. So if you have done something wrong, or you do like someone, it comes out."
Proudlock: "It's going to come out. It's very hard to keep situations under wraps without people finding out, and obviously these things eventually come out."
Jamie: "And I do think everyone does have a dark side. Not a dark side but, you know, no-one's a prince. So the show does find out everything about you and they will if you have done this. It shows your true colours."
Proudlock: "I think there are maybe a few people who thought things wouldn't come out and then..."

So there are secrets?
Proudlock: "Some secrets are going to come out."

Are either of you in trouble?
Proudlock: "I'm all good, touch wood. What about you, troll? Has the troll been naughty?"
Jamie: "I don't know, I've been hiding under a bridge!"
Proudlock: "Jamie just spends the whole series under a bridge and then he just comes out, like, 'Grr!'"
Jamie: "No, but I think we're flirty guys. We have fun. So of course whatever happens there is going to be trouble down the line. You can't stay out of trouble, because it's impossible to."
Proudlock: "Also, I think there's another thing to it. There's a lot of competition within a lot of the people within the cast, so for instance when new characters come in or little things like that, everyone kind of..."

Are you welcoming to the new guys?
Proudlock: "Yeah, yeah, of course. They fitted in really well, the new guys. Sometimes when you bring in new characters... But yeah, these guys have fitted in really well and they've created drama already. And I think it's key that when new characters come in, they know people already within the show."
Jamie: "That's always the thing. I think the thing with other shows, I'm not too sure, I don't really know, but it seems like they just grab people."
Proudlock: "It seems to be forced."
Jamie: "Whereas with us, we're all friends. We've all known each other for years, and things like that. So it's all just very easy and natural."
Proudlock: "It seems organic."
Jamie: "Everyone who comes on the show we do know of, or we've met or we've kissed or something like that. Chelsea's very incestuous as you know, so everyone knows everyone. You can't get away from it."

I was going to ask if there was anyone in the cast you wanted to kiss, but I guess you've kind of done a lot of them already...
Proudlock: "Maybe some of the new..."
Jamie: "Would you like to kiss any of the new ones?"
Proudlock: "There is someone I'd like to kiss, yeah."
Jamie: "Really? I know who it is!"
Proudlock: "So do I."
Jamie: "I think we're single guys, and if a good-looking girl comes across and you get on well, then of course, why would you not want to hook up with them?"

The parties look great, but you're always drinking fancy cocktails. Do you ever just want a beer?
Proudlock: "I prefer drinking beer."
Jamie: "I don't drink beer."
Proudlock: "That's not very Chelsea, so I've got to have a glass of champagne."

So what's your drink of choice?
Proudlock: "I would say either..."
Jamie: "Don't say a beer!"
Proudlock: "I was going to say two options - either a beer or a gin and tonic."
Jamie: "Mine's a cucumber sour."

A cucumber sour?
Jamie: "It's really good, try it! [Proudlock laughs] It's unbelievable! It is!"
Proudlock: "To be fair, a cucumber sour is good. I wouldn't go to a pub and ask for one of those though, I don't think!"
Jamie: "Neither would I. I'd ask for a Guinness. And some nuts!"

Sure. So is there anything that's been on the show that you wish you could erase from history?
Jamie: "I think full-on kissing with Louise. When we full-on kissed. When you watch back kissing..."
Proudlock: "You don't want to be too full on with too much tongue, and then you don't want to... I think Jamie went a bit too full on there!"
Jamie: "Also, I think the hard thing is when you do something bad - to a girl, to a guy, anything, it doesn't matter - you don't get to watch it back. So you go, 'Was I bad?' and people go, 'Yeah, you were quite bad', and you don't really understand. But then if you watch something back, you go, 'Oh s**t'."
Proudlock: "But also the situation with me and Francis, a lot of the time, you don't know. I was doing my scenes with Sophia, but then you don't know what the other people are doing on the other side. So the first time I ever see, for instance, Francis and Sophia doing their scenes is when it goes out on TV to everyone else, and I'm there like, 'Oh my God, that was... and I was doing that...' You have no idea what other people are doing or what they're filming or what they're saying, so you're just like, 'Oh my God', and then when it's put together you're like, 'Ahh!'"
Jamie: "Also, we kind of have an unwritten code - everyone wants to make a great show, so you don't really talk about whatever's going on because you wouldn't normally."
Proudlock: "You want to get people's reactions."
Jamie: "You wouldn't normally talk about it. You wouldn't say, 'I'm going to do this', you wouldn't plan anything, because it just doesn't really work if you start planning something. I think some shows plan things - we just literally, just whatever happens, happens. If you naturally would talk about something, talk about it, but don't go out of your way to talk about it. You know, the whole Francis and Sophia thing, why would he go and talk about what happened? Because boys don't really talk about that. 'Do you fancy her?' 'Yeah'. It kind of works like that. So you don't really know what happens."
Proudlock: "It's kind of tricky."

But you do watch it back?
Jamie: "All together."
Proudlock: "Yeah, we watch it all together, which is kind of awkward..."

Yeah, I was going to say, that sounds really awkward.
Proudlock: "Very awkward!"
Jamie: "So when you were talking about someone, you literally say, 'Sorry...'"
Proudlock: "Everyone's there. You can feel them behind you, just literally staring at you..."

You must be pretty good friends to get through that.
Proudlock: "I think with the guys, it's easy. I think the girls get a little bit more bitchy."
Jamie: "Girls are so weird, as well. Girls just jump from friend to friend. Girls don't have set friends - it seems like they create different groups all the time. We would never break up!"
Proudlock: "We would never do that! Lost Boys forever. Have you seen our tattoos? [Shows off his 'Lost Boi' tattoo]."
Jamie: "I got a really bad one though. I got this really bad one [of Peter Pan]. I thought a bit further and thought, 'F**k it, might as well get Peter Pan!"
Proudlock: "It's like Peter Pan's foot."
Jamie: "It's one of those things where... you [see it] and go, 'Oh f**k, it's still there'. Or I wake up in the morning and go, 'Agh!'"

Do you wish you'd never got that tattoo, then?
Jamie: "I don't really regret anything."
Proudlock: "He did regret it when he got it. He was even looking at how to get it removed."
Jamie: "Basically, I got it done and I was like, 'Oh s**t'. So I phoned up a laser company straight away, and I was like, 'Okay, I need to get this lasered off now'. They're like, 'Okay fine, no worries - it takes ten sessions to do'. I was like, 'Great, let's book ten straight away'. They went, 'Well you have to wait four to six weeks between each laser session', so that's a year already on my arm. Then I thought, 'Well, I got it just now, can I get the first laser done tomorrow?' They said, 'No, you have to wait six months'. So I have it on my arm for a minimum..."
Proudlock: "I think any tattoo when you first get it... Like, I even got this, my mum's signature, a tiny one. But even after you're always like, 'Ah, I wish it was bigger' or, 'I don't like it'. But you're over it now."
Jamie: "Also, I think the whole point is there are things in your life you wish you could maybe change. But at the same time, I'm one of those cheesy people who thinks things do happen for a reason and you've just got to go with it."
Proudlock: "And you don't want to have regrets."
Jamie: "Unless you go around murdering people or something - then you'd probably regret it. But apart from that, don't really regret anything. If you do something that really harms other people, hurts other people, then you can regret it. But anything to yourself, I think you just brush it off."
Proudlock: "You learn from it, move on."
