ITV green-lights 'That Antony Cotton Show'
Published Thursday, Jul 5 2007, 00:02 BST | By Kris Green

The show, commissioned by ITV’s Director of Factual and Daytime, Alison Sharman, will be fronted by Cotton - who plays Weatherfield's knicker stitcher and barman, Sean Tully - over a five week period during the summer in ITV1's weekday 5-6pm tea-time slot.
The 31-year-old actor will film the show in front of a live audience at Mancherster's Granada Studios while, at the same time, maintaining his appearances in Coronation Street.
Speaking of his new show, Cotton said: "I'm delighted to have been given this opportunity. I love working on Coronation Street and producers have been kind enough to allow me to leave the cobbles earlier in the day to get into the studio next door to make the show. It’s going to be gossipy, light-hearted, chatty and irreverent but most of all fun with lots of tea and cake."
Executive Producer, Rachel Ashdown, added: "Antony has a fantastic sense of humour and the show is very much going to reflect that."
Talks surrounding a possible chat show for Cotton came about in January after he won ITV's Soapstar Superstar. He also walked away from this year's British Soap Awards ceremony with the gong for 'Best Actor'.
