Season 2, Episode Six
Remember Sam's present day girlfriend called Maya who last appeared back in the very first episode? Well, she plays a large part in this week's show as her faith in Sam's chances of improving starts to wane.

We also learn more about Gene's background and motivation for his gritty outlook on life, with the central drugs smuggling storyline evoking memories of a close relative's fate. Thankfully, his anger translates into a series of hilarious one-liners throughout the episode.

A chap named Toolbox also appears on the scene, a mysterious figure who seems to take the law into his own hands - with the police's endorsement.

Let's allow Gene Hunt to have the final word on this week's preview:

“By the time I’ve finished with you, you’re going to be begging for those rabid ferrets to be gnashing on your nuts.”
