S02E07: The Finale

Locked in a cell with Nick Cutter, Jenny tells him she is no longer engaged. Caroline and Abby have a fight, but the two are separated by Connor - although he now knows the truth about Leek paying Caroline.

Leek has several monsters in position around the country and unleashes a giant Silurian scorpion on a beach, which Stephen later manages to hunt and capture. Abby finds Rex in Leek's warehouse amongst the other monsters. Caroline apologises to everyone for her past behaviour. Helen, after telling Stephen that Lester is the real villain, tells Nick that she wants to use technology from the future to alter the present.

With Cutter watching via a monitor, Leek unleashes a sabre-toothed creature into a room in which Abi, Caroline, Connor and Jenny are trapped. However, Nick tricks Leek into downloading a virus previously planted in his laptop by Connor and the security systems are shut down and the doors all fling open. This enables the quartet to escape.

Caroline saves a wounded Rex before leaving with the others, while Cutter manages to deactivate the controls on Leek's beasts and they attack and kill him. Stephen arrives on the scene and learns that Helen has been feeding him lies. He then sacrifices his life, against Cutter's wishes, by closing the doors from the inside of the warehouse and preventing the beasts from escaping. Later, beside his grave, Helen states that "things can change" and she is then joined by several clones of the same soldier.
