Delighted its coming back. However, waiting until 2011 is going to be hard to take. Also must say i want claudia and nick back as i loved the chemistry between them. With the ending of series 3, and from what has been shown so far, anything is possible i.e. former core cast members may return. I really do hope they bring some back as i dont really care about the 2 additions in series 3

I thought my final image of Abby and Connor would be them up a tree, and I would live with that until the day I died. I am so pleased the series will be returning. It is certainly worth it.

is nick or stephen coming back...please bring nick back

The Cutter actor, Douglas Henshall, decided to quit in the third series. He wanted to try new things I think. The producers were writing him out in Series 3 anyway, so it would have happened whether he quit or not. But Danny is my favourite character so I'm not bothered about Cutter leaving to be honest. I hope this helpled.
Anne McLain, Santa Rosa, CA on November 7th, 2009
Could anyone tell me why they killed off Cutter? I can't find anything on the web about it. Did he want out?
Mary Dye, Texas on November 4th, 2009
Great they are doing a 4 and 5 series. Hope they bring cutter back. He was my favorite preson on the show. I dont care about some of the new people in the 3rd series. I love the first two series more then the third. I will still watch the 4th and 5th series when it comes to the u.s.. It is a great show to watch. I love sifi.

I am vindicated. It is a show that couldnt be axed. Many worse shows have continued and ITV lost my confidence with the announcement they were dropping the show

I am too a fan of Capt. Ryan --- and feel the same as those many who stopped caring because they keep killing characters. I agree with Anne - if Ryan is not going to be back I won't be that much interested to watch the new series ---

Felt bad about Primeval. Glad it came back. Its distant cousin Sliders was also axed but never came back. Both great stories.

Its great news that they are bringing back this great show. I am pleased that they will wrap up the huge cliffhanger at the end of season 3 but are people forgetting the Claudia Brown storyline. They have to tie up that storyline before the end of season 5 now that they have a timescale of the end. I would also like to see the return of Nick Cutter but i highly doubt this will happen, the show is nowhere near the same without him and Claudia Brown/Jenny Lewis. I am almost 100% convinced we have not seen the last of Helen Cutter and return of Christine Johnson would make for an interesting storyline. Please also remember that we need to find out more about the anomolies such as how/why they appear, etc. I cant wait for 2011!!!
Luke Wibberley, Derby on October 3rd, 2009
I am so glad that Primeval is returning for a Series 4 and a Series 5. And I'm also glad that all the main actors from the end of the third series, apart from Helen, are returning. Lets hope 2011 comes fast!!!
Alison, Northumberland on October 2nd, 2009
I was delighted to hear the news - it mad my day :) Considering that there are two more series coming up, it would be nice if they managed to find a space for the return of Captain Ryan - I'm sure they could squeeze him in somewhere!
Ronnie, Durham on October 1st, 2009
the last series was the most amazing for me enjoyed it more than anything it had great epsiodes and a really brillaint cliffhanger it was so sad when i thought it wouldnt be coming back this is the best news ever made my day!

Brilliant news! Great to see ITV are not abandoning family drama, the axe wielding earlier this year has upset an awful lot of viewers and I know many many people who refuse to watch most of ITV's output as a protest. I hope similar deals can be done for other well loved shows. Bring back Heartbeat, The Royal and commission some new shows with a similar family feel, my family are thoroughly sick of reality tv and shows like cops on camera. Bring back our favourites!

Great to hear the team are coming back. They certainly had one of the most seamless cast transformations last year with Jason Fleming's part gradually building up. Miller was always good and I hope he does more next run.
Tom, US on October 1st, 2009
Definitely a show worth bringing back although the time lag (losing a year) and once again making so few episodes is a little of a disappointment. Fortunately, the "two seasons" are going to be released in the same year which will add up to 13 episodes in 2011. Of course, that is European release...not that quickly here in the US.

I love Primeval and i'm really glad that it has been picked up again and i can't wait to see Season 4 and 5!!! Love it!!! xxx

So over the moon with this decision!! absolutely the right thing to do! it made no sense at the time when they axed it and i was really gutted, for me the show overtook bbc favs such as robin hood and even dr who! very very very pleased it's coming back! they couldnt waste all the acting talent go to waste as well, anything getting hannah and andrew back on our screens is wonderful!

This and Kyle XY were the most brutal cancellations of my life....but this! just this! OMG I am as happy as could be, read about this in the nightshift at my local shell garage and was almst doing backflips, put me in an amazing mood... I LOVE THE PRODUCERS, CAST AND CREW OF THIS SHOW FOR HAVING SO MUCH FAITH IN IT! ROCK THE FUDGE ON!
Ian Sharp, Carlisle on September 30th, 2009
Fantastic news! Both my wife and I love the show and were very dissapointed when it was cancelled. I also think it is very important that the cast has signed on again. Cannot wait for it to start!
Phil, Stoke on September 30th, 2009
Absolutely over the moon!
David, St. Paul USA on September 30th, 2009
I've grown to love the story, and our family has watched the entire series again over a three week period, where we all were doubly amazed at how the story had turned. Can't wait to see how Connor and Abby rescue themselves and Danny out of their predicament in the next series, and find out what Sarah meant when she said "I have an idea". Tops in television.
Anne, Europe on September 30th, 2009
I couldn't care really - lost interst since a while as they keep killing characters I can't get really into it as for me the show turned into one big clip with large monsters chasing people - and those people who are running don't feel so important to worry about as you know that in he end they will be killed anyway! If they should bring back Capt. Ryan perhaps I should consider watching it but as they keep going the route they are on - killing off major characters - no thanks I won't bother! And reading the posts on other forums I am not alone!
Cathy, West Yorkshire on September 30th, 2009
I am pleased this is coming back so that the story can be finished off. However I do hope the storylines improve. IMHO it wasn't the same after Douglas Henshall left and I felt that killing off Juliet Aubrey's character was a mistake.
Fred Buck, Hartlepool on September 30th, 2009
I'm pleased that ITV has recommisioned Primeval. It's been one of their best dramas of recent years, suitable for all the family

I am estatic that Primeval is being renewed, the last season was brilliant, which all my family enjoyed watching, I can't wait for Jan 2011
Captain T, New Zealand on September 30th, 2009
Oh thank christ! I clapped my hands with glee when I read about this. Primeval is made of awesome.
Phil, Angus, Scotland on September 30th, 2009
I'm absolutely delighted. It's a real guilty pleasure for me, and the closest either channel has come to capturing the magic of Doctor Who in recent times. I admit I was shocked when it was initially canned, but did suspect that it might be resurrected in this manner - especially after the BBC annual report made several large comments about the success of the show for BBC Worldwide. I thought the BBC would jump in for a co-deal, and it looks like that wasn't far from the truth. BBC Worldwide is involved, and Watch is partially owned by the Beeb. God love Auntie and the others for taking the plunge (and ITV for never saying die). At last we'll have that cliffhanger resolved, and although its resolution was pretty clearly telegraphed it'll still be nice to see it on screen - rather than just in our heads!
Val, West Midlands on September 30th, 2009
What a brilliant surprise! Well done Tim & co. for thrashing out this deal, it must have took months of hard work and sleepless nights. The fact that it's such a massive hit all round the world must have helped ITV see they'd made a mistake. It's easy to lose sight of things like that in our little UK bubble.
Jon Heinrich, Kentucky on September 30th, 2009
YEAH!!! My daughter and I have fallen in love with Primeval, and the characters. We were very sad to hear it was going away. My daughter keeps watching recordings of all of the show. The first season is her favorite. We can't wait for series 4 and 5. We are hoping for a US version, but it really won't be the same without the original cast.
Rob, Pembrokeshire on September 30th, 2009
Once they started bringing in implausible new characters and killing off the old core ones,I lost interest.
Ami, Manchester on September 30th, 2009
Wow! Definitely pleased that Primeval has come back! It was a very pleasant surprise for me and a few people here! It's fantastic news.
Sue, Ammanford, South Wales on September 29th, 2009
Totally agree with Danny and rialnis comments, brilliant news! I was so chuffed to read this as we were really fed-up with the decision to axe the show, especially as it is something families can sit down and watch together. Wishing the cast and crew loads of success and look forward to watching very soon - Sue x
