After almost four months away, Prison Break finally returns to our screens on Sky1 next Tuesday - or if you're lucky enough to live in the US, this evening - for its final tranche of episodes. In honour of this momentous occasion, and the rather sizable delay between new instalments, we thought you might appreciate a quick refresher of what has happened in season four to date.

  • Michael learnt that Sara was actually alive and had been tortured (off screen) by Gretchen

  • Whistler wound up dead by the end of the first episode

  • The group plotted to bring down the Company by exposing their 'little black book', Scylla...

  • ...only to discover it was much more than just a bunch of secrets

  • Gretchen turned against the Company and as a result was tortured

  • Tougher than a pair of old boots, she teamed up with T-Bag and his bird book to get her hands on Scylla

  • Agent Self worked with the team to bring the Company down, only to screw them over at the last moment and run off with Scylla

  • Luckily, Scofield was on the ball and took a piece of Scylla

  • Bellick sacrificed his life for the team

  • Michael started suffering mysterious nose bleeds...

  • ...which it turned out were the sign of a brain tumour

  • Lincoln made a deal with the devil Company: he promised them Scylla if they saved his brother's life

  • Michael then underwent surgery, courtesy of the Company

  • The Company dropped a double bombshell on the brothers: not only did their mother work for the Company - she is also alive!
Speaking of the mysterious Christina Scofield, we found this juicy nugget of info from producer Matt Olmstead: "She plays a big part of the last few episodes - a lot of secrets are revealed and Michael and Lincoln are certainly shook in terms of who they are and where they came from. At a certain point they're wondering, 'is this the truth?' Or are they trying to be divided and conquered?"
