Get your teeth into 'True Blood'

To be honest, we've been quite excited about True Blood for a while now. A new drama full of sexy young bloodsucking vampires? Yes please!
The series - from Six Feet Under creator Alan Ball - is set in a small Louisiana town where vampires have become an accepted part of society thanks to the invention of synthetic blood. The cast includes Anna Paquin (X-Men), British actor Stephen Moyer and Home and Away's Ryan Kwanten.
Hit 'play' below for a sneaky peek:
True Blood premieres on FX in July and airs on Channel 4 later this year. In the US, HBO has renewed the show for a second season, which airs from next month.

Stephen Moyer is amazing and I love the way the series feels. Hope FX give it a decent time slot

I saw the first series last year and was blown away! It was picked up for its second series before the second episode had even aired. I urge everyone to give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

I have seen the first season of the show and I am a huge buffy fan! I can assure Buffy fans that this show draws about 2% similarity and the other 98% is from the original books and Alan Balls odd head! Trust me when i say this show is AMAZING!!!

This wasnt really my kind of thing, but for those comparing it to Buffy (seemingly without actually watching it) - its nothing like that whatsoever.

I've also already watched the entire 1st series and it was bloody brilliant! (sorry for the pun). I knew some of the actors but still, I thought Alan Ball gave us an amazing show, one of the best of last year! What can I say? It's bewitching, the acting and the writing are great, the opening credits are fantastic and once you've watched it you're addicted to it! Altought no-one seems to have mentionned this but True Blood is based on a series of novels by Charlaine Harris. Oh, and let me give you just a piece of advice so that you can fully enjoy watching True Blood: just assure you that the room you're in is dark. It's better this way, trust me.

Oh yip skip. Fisrt they bring a Buffy clone to the cinema and now it's the tv. Pretty blonde, who's not quite what she seems-check, older mentor-check, vampire boyfriend-check, geeky looking friend/brother who doesn't approve-check. Jeez. I'm sure if I watched this rip-off I'd find more, but I'll stick to Joss' stuff thanks. At least I'll be assured of some quality writing.

This is easily one of the best things to come out of the US in a looooong time. I finished the first season a couple of months ago and I'm ready for the new season (starting the US this May)

I haven't seen true blood yet but I've read the books and they are great and really not like Buffy at all (which i also like). Anyone who avoids these stories because they think they're a rip-off will probably be ripping themselves off! I'm really looking forward to seeing it.
