Latest 'Vampire Diaries' draws 500,000

The latest episode of The Vampire Diaries drew 500k (2.1%) for ITV2 last night, according to the latest viewing data.

The figure was up on last week's performance of 479k (1.9%), but failed to top the average for the series so far, which stands at 533k (2.3%).

Elsewhere, Holby City logged 5.74m (23.8%) for BBC One at 8pm, making it the most-watched programme during primetime.

Also at 8pm, Lambing Live interested 2.55m (10.6%) for BBC Two, ITV1's Cops With Cameras claimed 2.65m (10.9%), Jo Frost: Extreme Parental Guidance had 1.95m (8.1%) for Channel 4, and 1.34m (5.6%) watched Ice Road Truckers on Five.

BBC One's Famous, Rich and Jobless won the 9pm hour, drawing 4.01m (16.9%). Its nearest rival, Channel 4's One Born Every Minute, managed 2.8m (11.8%).

CSI attracted 2.45m (10.4%) to Five, a rerun of Law & Order: UK grabbed 2.35m (9.9%) for ITV1, and BBC Two's Horizon put in 1.85m (7.8%).

The latest episode of Shameless had 2.3m (13.2%) for Channel 4 during the 10pm hour.

Overall, BBC One dominated primetime with an average share of 23% to ITV1's 12.9%. Channel 4 was third with 8.8% (+1: 1%), followed by BBC Two with 8.7%, and Five's 6.3%.
