'Doctor Who' boss reveals Davros doubts
Russell T. Davies opted to wait until Doctor Who's fourth season before bringing back Davros as he feared the Daleks might be rendered ineffective around their creator.

Speaking to Doctor Who Magazine, Davies revealed: "To be honest, I wasn't in a rush because sometimes, in those old stories, Davros would dominate the Daleks to the extent that they became simple foot soldiers there to do his bidding - like plain robots instead of the scheming geniuses that they are."

"But I've had three years to establish their intelligence," Davies continued. "It's time to bring back their creator and see what happens. It has given the legend time to build."
