Morrissey was 'cert' to replace Tennant
Bookies were so sure David Morrissey would replace David Tennant in Doctor Who that they stopped taking bets ahead of Saturday night's finale.

William Hill cut the price on the Basic Instinct 2 actor from 33/1 to odds-on as bets piled in before the show aired.

A spokesman said some punters were betting large amounts up to £5,000.

"Gamblers such as these are rarely wrong and we would be very surprised if he was not the next Timelord," he said.
