The sci-fi hit beat comedies Friends and Red Dwarf in a poll of shows fans would most like to watch at the cinema.
Speaking at last weekend's Edinburgh TV Festival, Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat said he was not against the idea as long as it did not interfere with the filming of the series.
Moffat, whose first full season in charge of the show airs in 2010, revealed that he would like to see a movie version if it is "great and fantastic".
