'Who' teaser planned for Children In Need

A two-minute teaser clip from the forthcoming Doctor Who Christmas Special will be broadcast during the Children In Need telethon next month.

The BBC has confirmed that the snippet will form part of an evening of entertainment when the annual charity event airs on Friday, November 14.

This year's Christmas episode, titled 'The Next Doctor', will see David Morrissey guest starring alongside David Tennant. The special's air date has not yet been confirmed, but it is expected to be broadcast on Christmas Day as in previous years.

More than 13 million viewers tuned in to see Kylie Minogue making a guest appearance on the programme last Christmas. Meanwhile, the 2006 festive special saw Catherine Tate making her first appearance as Donna Noble.

Last year, Tennant and former Doctor Peter Davison starred together in a mini-episode for Children In Need. Titled 'Time Crash', the special revolved around an unexpected encounter between two incarnations of The Doctor.
