It was previously confirmed that neither actor will appear live on stage, but will instead feature in pre-filmed inserts. Will Brenton told SFX that fans will not be disappointed by the show.
"There's a lot of Matt," he confirmed. "We've been filming some special sequences with [him] for the show. We were orginally hoping to have five or six minutes with him. We've ended up with a lot more than that."
Brenton insisted that the Doctor will be "intrinsic to the way the whole show unfolds", adding: "And we've got a neat little gizmo for how he appears at one point as well."
He explained that part of the tour will also "pay an homage" to Karen Gillan.
"Karen's in there in that there's a specific Amy section of the show... and then she appears in various other... clip sections," he said. "It's very series five focused... in terms of the content and the monsters that we've got."
The Doctor Who live tour kicks off at Wembley Arena on October 8.
