The actor told SFX that the national arena tour would be an "extravaganza".
"[For] a Who fan, it's all your dreams come at once," he promised. "[It has] every monster throughout the entirety of [the show's] history set to Murray Gold's brilliant and... iconic score."
He further revealed details of the tour's storyline, in which the Doctor encounters the mysterious Vorgenson.
"Vorgenson, played by the wonderful Nigel Planer, [is] kind of an intergalactic showman," he said. "[He] has this very terrible and ghastly machine called the Minimiser. It wields a lot of power and places the Doctor in a position that he needs to address."
Smith also confirmed that the show contains sequences that could frighten younger fans.
He joked: "Of course it will be scary, it's Doctor Who!"
The Doctor Who live tour kicks off at Wembley Arena on October 8.
