'EastEnders' star lands 'Doctor Who' role

According to the site of acting agency Gordon and French, former EastEnders actor Lee Ross will play the character 'Boatswain' in an upcoming episode.
Ross played Owen Turner on the BBC soap until 2009 and also featured as DCI Litton in both Life On Mars and its follow-up Ashes to Ashes. In 2009, he appeared alongside Doctor Who star Matt Smith in BBC crime drama Moses Jones.
Gordon & French also lists Ultimate Force star Danny Sapani as being involved in a future instalment. The actor, who recently appeared in episodes of Garrow's Law and Misfits, will play a character named Colonel Manton.
Other actors previously confirmed to appear in the show's sixth run include Sarah Smart, Marshall Lancaster, Elizabeth Berrington and Hugh Bonneville.
The sixth series of Doctor Who is expected to launch on BBC One in the spring.
