The Gavin & Stacey star, who first appeared in last year's 'The Lodger', reprises his role as Craig Owen in this weekend's episode.
Of his respect for the Time Lord actor, Corden told TV Buzz: "I'm really taken by him, he is the main reason I went back to Doctor Who."
Speaking to the Radio Times earlier this week, Corden admitted that he did not foresee a return to the sci-fi drama.
"When I left last time, I thought it was a great experience," he explained. "But it never crossed my mind that I would come back, because most people don't."
The Doctor, Craig and his baby Alfie come face-to-face with a squad of Cybermen in Gareth Roberts's story.
Doctor Who's penultimate episode of the series, 'Closing Time', airs this Saturday at 7.10pm on BBC One and at 9/8c on BBC America.
