Piper watches 'Doctor Who' in tears

Billie Piper says that she found it so upsetting to watch the Doctor Who Christmas special that she burst into tears.

The 24-year-old actress left the series last June, but she enjoyed filming it so much that she could hardly bare to watch an episode in which she did not appear.

Discussing Doctor Who on The Charlotte Church Show, she said: "We laughed a lot on that show. I watched the Christmas episode and I cried the duration of the show.

"I handled it quite well, considering, but I did cry a lot. But I was really drunk, so that might have had something to do with it!"

Piper is currently appearing in Treats at London's Wyndhams Theatre.
