Comedian Tom Craine revealed that he would be taking part in the special on his official website earlier today (August 30).

"Delighted that I'll be appearing as a guest on a forthcoming BBC3 show celebrating 50 years of Doctor Who," he posted.

"Wouldn't put it past me to have a few stern words to say about the Daleks."

Other events taking place to mark the British sci-fi show's milestone include a takeover of London's Heathrow Airport and a celebratory weekend convention at the city's ExCeL exhibition centre.

Doctor Who's 50th anniversary episode, featuring past Doctors and cast, will be broadcast on BBC One on Saturday, November 23.
