Pegg rules out being next Doctor

Simon Pegg has said he will not audition to be the next Doctor because he is such a big fan of the show.

The actor starred as The Editor in a first season episode of the series, but said he would be too excited to play the lead role when David Tennant decides to step down.

He told WENN: "I'm too much of a fan to actually play the Doctor. I think my head would actually explode."

Pegg recently signed up to play Scotty in the forthcoming Star Trek movie.
