'Dr Who', 'Sarah Jane' land RTS nominations

In the Best Drama Serial category, Doctor Who faces competition from E4's popular Skins and Jimmy McGovern's highly lauded The Street. David Tennant has also been recognised for both his work as the time-travelling Doctor and as a brain-damaged man in BBC's one-off drama Recovery, scooping a nomination for Best Actor.
The Sarah Jane Adventures, which stars Elisabeth Sladen as the titular former Doctor Who companion, is vying for an award as the best children's drama. It is up against BBC's Desperados and CITV's My Life As A Popat. Sarah Jane was recently recommissioned for a second series.
The RTS Programme Awards 2007 will be presented on Wednesday, March 19 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, with Eamonn Holmes hosting the event.
